Kinora

A planner for film festivals

What Kinora does

A film festival prints hundreds of films across a week or two, many of them showing more than once, in several venues at the same time. Kinora lays out that whole programme and lets you mark it up.

  • Mark a film Interested or High priority while you read the programme.
  • Mark a screening Maybe or Going once you have chosen a date, and see where two screenings clash.
  • Hide the films you have ruled out, and say why, so you can find them again.
  • Mark the hours you are busy, and the screenings in those hours are hidden for you.
  • Write notes on films and screenings, and tag screenings Booked, Sold out or with tags of your own.
  • Send friends a link to the screenings you have chosen, and see who will join you. Groups are coming soon.

One account works for every festival on Kinora, and your plan is saved to it as you go.

Where the programmes come from

Each festival’s programme is taken from the listings the festival publishes on its own website: films, credits, synopses, screenings, venues and posters. Kinora lays these out; it does not write them. Festivals change their programmes as they go, and Kinora checks for changes, but there can be a delay, and a mistake can creep in.

When a festival’s own site and Kinora disagree, the festival’s site is right. If you find a listing that is wrong, tell us: in the app, open Feedback and choose Wrong listing, or use the contact form.

Tickets

Kinora does not sell tickets and never handles payments. Where a festival publishes a booking page for a screening, Kinora links to it, and you buy the ticket from the festival.

What it costs

Kinora is free to use. It shows no advertising and does not sell anything it knows about you. The Privacy policy sets out what is stored and who can see it.

If Kinora has helped you plan a festival and you would like to help pay for it, you can buy it a coffee on Buy Me a Coffee. It is never required, and nothing in the app changes for people who do.

If you run a festival

If you would like your programme listed, corrected or taken down, or want to talk about linking to your programme from your own site, use the contact form. Festival names, posters and film images belong to the festivals and the films’ rights holders, and are removed on request.

Getting in touch

For anything else, including questions about your account, use the contact form. If you are signed in, the Feedback button at the top of the app reaches the same inbox.
